Castleberry Loft Tour Celebrates the Artists Behind Black Girl Beautiful

The Castleberry Hill Loft Tour is proud to announce that the 2026 commemorative T-shirt will be inspired by Black Girl Beautiful, one of the neighborhood’s most beloved and recognizable public artworks.

Located in the heart of Castleberry Hill, the mural has become a vibrant symbol of creativity, culture, representation, and community pride. Created through a collaboration between artist Faatimah Stevens and Black Girl Beautiful founder Nikia Phoenix, the artwork continues to inspire residents and visitors alike while serving as one of the neighborhood’s most photographed landmarks.

As part of this year’s Loft Tour, we are honored to recognize the artists whose vision helped transform a shared public space into a meaningful work of community storytelling.

The commemorative T-shirt will feature original artwork inspired by the mural and will celebrate the spirit of creativity and connection that has long defined Castleberry Hill.

About the Artists

Faatimah Stevens is a multidisciplinary designer, painter, muralist, and educator whose work bridges fine art, design, and cultural storytelling. Her murals have become widely recognized throughout Atlanta for their distinctive visual language and ability to transform public spaces into places of reflection, beauty, and cultural dialogue. Nikia Phoenix is the founder of Black Girl Beautiful, a movement dedicated to celebrating confidence, creativity, culture, and self-expression. Through her work as a creative entrepreneur, writer, and advocate, she continues to inspire communities through empowerment and authentic storytelling. Learn more here.

Early Bird Tickets Now Available for the 2026 Castleberry Hill Loft Tour & Wine Tasting

The wait is over! Early Bird Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Castleberry Hill Loft Tour & Wine Tasting, returning to Atlanta’s historic Castleberry Hill neighborhood on Saturday, October 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Produced by the Castleberry Hill Neighborhood Association and presented by Centennial Yards, this annual event offers a rare opportunity to step inside private lofts, enjoy wine tastings hosted by neighborhood businesses, and experience the creativity, character, and culture that make Castleberry Hill one of Atlanta’s most distinctive urban communities.

Guests will explore a curated collection of lofts housed within historic warehouse buildings, discover local galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and public art, and enjoy wine tastings throughout the district. New experiences and participating locations will continue to be announced in the coming months.

The event will also feature the Castleberry Hill Insider Experience with Manny Recinos of Common Ground Real Estate, offering attendees a unique perspective on the neighborhood’s history, architecture, growth, and community.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Castleberry Hill or visiting for the first time, the Loft Tour & Wine Tasting is the perfect opportunity to experience the neighborhood where history, art, and urban living come together.

The Castleberry Hill Loft Tour & Wine Tasting returns on Saturday, October 24, 2026, inviting guests to once again experience one of Atlanta’s most historic and creatively vibrant neighborhoods from the inside out.

Each year, the Loft Tour offers a rare opportunity to step inside private loft residences, working art studios, and galleries, while connecting with the artists, entrepreneurs, and neighbors who make Castleberry Hill unlike anywhere else in the city. From historic architecture to contemporary design, the tour showcases the character and creativity that define our community.

Planning for 2026 is already underway, with early sponsors committed and several lofts confirmed, setting the stage for another memorable evening celebrating art, architecture, and community.

As always, the tour will highlight local artists, neighborhood businesses, and the creative energy that makes Castleberry Hill one of Atlanta’s most distinctive districts.

Hotel Phoenix Celebration Marks Continued Momentum for Downtown Atlanta

This past weekend, Centennial Yards celebrated the official launch of Hotel Phoenix, welcoming investors, city leaders, and community stakeholders to mark another milestone in the transformation of Downtown Atlanta.

The event highlighted the growing momentum surrounding the Centennial Yards development and the broader evolution of the west side corridor — particularly as Atlanta prepares for increased global attention in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup.

Castleberry Hill Second Friday Art Stroll

Castleberry Hill comes alive on the second Friday of each month during the Art Stroll, one of Atlanta’s longest-running and most vibrant neighborhood art events.

Explore a rotating lineup of gallery exhibitions, open studios, pop-up installations, and creative spaces tucked throughout our historic arts district. Featured stops include Nina Baldwin Gallery, Old Rabbit Gallery, Besharat Gallery, Peters Street Station, Bookstore Gallery, and Atlantucky—along with many other locally loved venues and artists.

From fine art to street murals, live music to curated cocktails, the Art Stroll offers something for every kind of art lover. Many locations featured on the annual Loft Tour & Wine Tasting  also participate in the monthly stroll, so it’s a great way to stay connected to the Castleberry creative scene year-round.

The Art Stroll is free, self-guided, and open to all. Start your evening at any participating location and follow the vibe from there.

Visionary Miya Bailey Transforming Castleberry Hill Art Community

Miya Bailey, renowned artist and entrepreneur, has been a key figure in bringing tattoo artistry into mainstream culture while cultivating a thriving art community in Castleberry Hill. Alongside his business partner and art curator, Plushette Ellis, they have transformed the neighborhood into a vibrant hub for creative expression.

Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Miya Bailey moved to Atlanta in 1994 to escape the streets to pursue an art career. Bailey began his tattoo journey in the early ‘90s after reading a book by Don Hardy on tattooing and tattoo culture. Upon noticing there was no African tattoo culture included in the book alongside the Japanese and New Zealand tattoo culture, Bailey started doing research on African art and warrior culture.  As Bailey says, “That’s how I got into tattooing.” For the culture. The rest is history. 

City of Ink Tattoo Studio, well known for their skill in tattooing melanin-rich skin tones in vivid colors. City of Ink has gone on to become round zero for Atlanta creatives, and a favorite of celebrities. City of Ink‘s annual anniversary celebrations are legendary, with attendees by the thousands, many flying in from around the country. 

333 Peters Street Station is a community center, a culture house, art gallery, studio and event space featuring popular art-centered activities and events each week.  The recently opened fine arts gallery Old Rabbit Art Gallery is presenting #MYMY333, a solo exhibition and new works by Miya Bailey on Friday September 6, 2024. Old Rabbit Gallery’s goal is to reinvigorate the local art community and provide a platform for contemporary artists. 

Plushette Ellis, Bailey’s business partner and gallery curator remarks, “Being able to curate art in all these beautiful galleries that Miya Bailey has created has been very rewarding. He trusts and believes in my vision, and the community I love does as well. Ellis shares a goal with Bailey, which is to see art in all Black family homes.

The Bookstore Gallery: A friendly, unique apothecary

As you step into the Bookstore Gallery, the atmosphere feels both exclusive and inviting, reminiscent of a hidden gem. The warm welcome from the team instantly dispels any notion of pretension. Instead, you’re enveloped in the vibrant energy of Castleberry Hill, where this unique apothecary thrives.

Having recently celebrated its two-year anniversary, Bookstore Gallery has established itself as a cornerstone of the community. Here, cannabis isn’t just a product; it’s a healing tool offered in various forms—smokables, teas, gummies, and topicals—all aimed at promoting wellness and elevating spirits. It’s more than an apothecary; it’s a dynamic tea bar, event space, and art gallery, hosting rotating exhibits that showcase local talent.

The gallery also serves as a safe haven for mental health practitioners and community members alike, with initiatives like AunTea’s Tea Talk and the Men’s Mental Health Meet-Up. Weekly and monthly events—like Game Night, Paint and Puff, and the Friday Fish Fry Suds and Buds—create an inviting atmosphere where everyone can connect and unwind.

Kyle Brown and AunTea Chi, the visionary duo behind Bookstore Gallery, saw a gap in the market for cannabis-based wellness solutions in Georgia. Their journey began at the kitchen table, where conversations sparked a passion for healing through the plant. Both HBCU graduates, they initially operated online before taking their beloved infused teas to pop-up events, where they quickly gained popularity.

With the addition of team members Malcolm and Tokyo, the diverse skills within the group propelled their dream into a thriving brick-and-mortar space. Kyle’s admiration for the neighborhood’s rich history of Black entrepreneurship, particularly figures like Herman J. Russell and the legacy of Paschal’s Restaurant, influenced their choice of location. The Bookstore Gallery has roots in the community, having once served as a bookstore for Morris Brown College and the International Theological Center.

Now, with plans for a new location in O4W at 488 Edgewood, set to open later this month, the Bookstore Gallery is poised to expand its reach, further contributing to the wellness and vibrancy of the Atlanta community. It’s not just a business; it’s a movement towards healing, connection, and celebration of the arts.
