Passing of the Golden Shovel from Minnesota to Atlanta and Urban Forestry Project, Oct 8th

The National Football League (NFL) has teamed up with the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee, Verizon and Trees Atlanta for a Super Bowl urban forestry program that will plant trees, create pollinator habitat and build community gardens in neighborhoods in and around Atlanta. (Press Release)

The Partnership and Castleberry Hill has chosen the Trenholm Space , 310 Trenholm Street SW, for the Super Bowl Urban Forestry Project. The Passing of the Golden Shovel from Minnesota to Atlanta will be the first Ceremonial event of the NFL Legacy 53 initiative to create positive impacts in our community. 

The Ceremony will take place on Monday, October 8th at 10am. We’re seeking volunteers from the neighborhood! Never planted a tree?… not to worry, here are some tips on successful tree planting. Please read and come prepared. Email econdev@castleberryhill.org to volunteer.
