hotchocolateraceHot Chocolate 15k/5k is headed back to Atlanta on January 22, 2017! Coined as America’s Sweetest Race, participants enjoy chocolate treats along the way and at the post race party.  Ronald McDonald House Charities is the official charity partner of the Hot Chocolate series.

Start and finish will be in Centennial Park and the expected attendance is ~20,000. The first wave of runners (15K and 5K) will start at 7:40am.  The second wave (5K only) will start at 8:25am.  View the course map here and road closure information here.

mercedesbenzstadiumMercedes-Benz Stadium announced that it will open its doors to the world with a month-long series of events including Atlanta Falcons football games, Atlanta United soccer matches, high-profile college football games, concerts and a spectacular celebration event.

Atlanta United is scheduled for its first home match in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, July 30, 2017, the first-ever sporting event in the stadium, and will then play two more home matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the middle of August as part of the inaugural month of opening events.

gallery-imageNew Year’s Eve celebrations are expected to draw crowds estimated close to 180,000. Crowds will fill Downtown beginning at 10 a.m. until past the midnight Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta.

Events scheduled on NYE include the Chick-fil-A Bowl parade on Peachtree Street at 12:30 p.m. and the bowl game that evening between Auburn and Virginia at the Georgia Dome.

The festivities also include the annual Peach Drop, with events starting at Underground Atlanta at 10 a.m. Traffic will be restricted around the area beginning at 4 p.m.

A pedestrian corridor will be set up around Underground Atlanta and bag checks will be conducted beginning at 5 p.m. for security purposes.

It’s strongly encouraged to not drive and take alternative transportation.  Stay safe and Happy New Year!
