Your 2010 Castleberry Hill Membership is now due. Your membership supports the Castleberry Hill Neighborhood Association (501c3 non-profit) in many ways. Postage, Mailbox Rent, Supplies for Cleanups, maintaining our non-profit status, among other administrative expenses, public safety, events, publicity and much more! It’s only $30/individual ($27/unit if a building joins) and $100/business.

Castleberry Filming

Thursday & Friday, March 25th & 26th – There will be a police/SWAT/hostage “standoff” scene for the 1-8-7 Detroit pilot filming taking place at 161 Mangum, it will be overnight both nights and there will be a helicopter filming aerial shots (noise variance permit submitted). More information on filming, including fliers with more information on specific shoots (when available) can be found here.

A Slice of Hope at Mellow Mushroom- Mar 27

Saturday, March 27, 10:00 p.m. – Join your neighbors at Mellow Mushroom Centennial Park for “A Slice of Hope” – an event benefiting The Children’s Restoration Network. They offer hope and support, enabling children and their mothers to break the cycle of homelessness through programs and special events designed to address their educational, emotional and physical needs. Together we can touch the lives of so many children and truly make a difference in their lives today and in their future. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Make a night of it!! Special arrangements with The Twelve Centennial Park Hotel for that weekend (Fri, Sat and Sun) for people attending the event. The Twelve is donating $10 for every room booked associated with the event.

Clean out those garages and closets and join us on the spur behind Mueller and GE Lofts for the neighborhood yard sale! We will have some tables and chairs, but best to bring on if you have it. We will start setting up around 8am and will be working on promoting it throughout the community. All are welcome, but we are asking that a percentage of your sales (10%) be donated to the CHNA.
