As you may know, Park Pride has selected Cleopas R. Johnson Park (corner of Northside and Fair) for their Park Visioning Program and, as such, will guide Friends of Cleopas R. Johnson Park and adjoining neighborhoods (primarily Castleberry Hill and the Atlanta University Center) through the phases of developing a comprehensive Master Plan towards redeveloping Cleopas R. Johnson Park into a world-class park.  The final conceptual Master Plan is expected to be completed by May of 2010.

Meeting I of IV – February 11: Attendees suggested and discussed many great ideas for the park, including an amphitheater, a community garden, sustainable seating areas, a skating ramp and so on.

Meeting II of IV – March 11: This will be the second of four public visioning meetings that will be held in the coming months towards redesigning Cleopas R. Johnson Park.  Those attending the March 11 meeting will break-out into groups, and each group will conceptualize their own park design.

Meeting III of IV – April 8 (location: TBA): Each park design will then be presented at the third public visioning meeting on April 8, where attendees will collaborate to extract the overall best concepts from the collection of designs and incorporate those chosen concepts into a single final park plan.

Meeting IV of IV – May 13 (location: TBA): The Master Plan will be finalized at the fourth public meeting on May 13.  Concept your own park design.  The final Master Plan will incorporate the best concepts extracted from the collection of designs that come from this meeting.
