    This area is established for the purposes of filming contacts, schedules, and other information pertinent to Castleberry Hill residents and businesses as well as the filming and production companies. The Castleberry Hill neighborhood has been used numerous times for filming from TV to the big screen and everything in between. The classic look and charm of the neighborhood, the buildings that have been restored but retain their historic look and feel, the skyline views of the city, the convenience of being downtown, the trains, the art galleries, and of course plenty of people willing to open their homes and businesses all make Castleberry Hill very conducive to filming.

      Dear Business Owners and Residents,

      ABC Family Channel and Crawfish Productions, L.L.C. is scheduled to film a scene for their up coming Christmas special titled “Ex Mas Carol,” in this area, more specifically at the Castleberry Point Lofts.

      “Ex-Mas Carol”, a modern version of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, is a light-hearted comedy about a success driven young executive, Sloane Spencer (played by Christina Milian), who neglects her loved ones as she pushes her way to the top of the corporate world.  Not until she is “divinely inspired” by the most unlikely character, does she see the true consequences of her actions and realizes she must change her ways before it’s too late.

      All the filming in this area takes place within Unit 337 of the Castleberry Point Lofts over a two day period beginning Thursday, August 26th and completing on Friday, August 27th.

      Thursday’s filming will take place between approximately 7:00am – 8:00pm;  Friday’s filming takes place between approximately 1:00pm – 2:00am (Saturday morning).

      We are requesting from the city a permit to park several of our equipment trucks and lighting equipment along the north curb parking lane of Nelson Street in front of the Castleberry Point Lofts, as well as the east and west parking lanes along Techwood Drive/Centennial Olympic Blvd. between Nelson Street and Chapel Street.  The remainder of our support trucks and crew member’s personal vehicles will park in a private lot so as not to congest the area unnecessarily.  Off-duty City of Atlanta Police officers will be present during filming to help with traffic flow and general public safety.

      It is our goal to work effectively to minimize the time in the area as well as the inconvenience to those in the vicinity.  We believe our plan services the logistical requirement to safely film the scenes, while maintaining public safety and traffic flow through the area during our presence.
